Toilet Bomb Cheat

Who's got time to make toilet bombs? This toilet bomb cheat recipe will save you a lot of time and effort. No mucking around with ice cube trays and they are free from essential oils.

DIY Toilet Bomb Cheat

Some of you may remember my earlier post on my failure with toilet bombs.

I have since successfully made several batches but they are always a little messy and I'm a tad on the lazy side when it comes to cleaning. I love things being clean, I just don't want to spend more time than I need to.

I think this simple cheat that is SIMPLER and MORE EFFECTIVE in cleaning the toilet.

I love essential oils, and I do use them frequently in my green cleaning items at home but you don't need to use them. You can certainly add them into this powder if you want to.

Keep in mind, you cannot make actual toilet bomb tablets with this recipe.

Ingredients

1 Cup of Bicarb soda

1/4 Cup of citric acid

1/4 - 1/2 cup of White Vinegar

Toilet Bomb Cheat Instructions

> Mix the bicarb and citric acid in a container.

If you're adding essential oils add around 20 drops to your powder and shake longer. Put around 1-2 heaped tablespoons of the powdered mix straight into the toilet.

> Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of vinegar.

It should bubble and fizz in a very satisfying way that makes you feel like a domestic goddess.

> Leave for half an hour or longer

(This is perfect to do overnight or just before you head off to work in the morning)

> Give a quick brush with your toilet brush later if you need to, and your done.

The benefits of this cheat mean you won't have to set aside time on a weekend to carefully blend ingredients, pack them into trays and then wait for the toilet tablets to be ready.

It Is also non-toxic, unlike the commercial toilet cleaners so there's absolutely no reason your kids can't get in on the fun too. (Although, you might find they don't get around to the scrubbing bit).

If you really hate the smell of vinegar, infuse some lemon, orange or lime peels in a bottle for a few weeks.

(It makes a fabulous all-purpose bathroom cleaning spray too)
