This natural, DIY Eco-Friendly Cloud Dough recipe is loads of fun and makes a fantastic sensory play experience.
It's also biodegradable and planet friendly without toxic ingredients.
If you are making this for several kids, double the recipe so there is plenty to go around.
Ingredients
4 Cups of Unbleached Flour
3/4 of a Cup of liquid Coconut Oil
1 teaspoon of Vanilla Essence
Liquid Food Colouring
How To Make It
>Add the flour to a large mixing bowl
>Mix in the oil and vanilla essence and stir through to create your basic Cloud Dough (or floof)
Cloud dough is a little like kinetic sand and a little like Floof.
>Choose your colours. We used pink, blue, green, red, yellow. Add around 1/2 a teaspoon of each colour at a time and use a fork to mix the colour around.
Due to the consistency of cloud dough, the food colour won't blend evenly and will give you pretty speckles of colour.
Here's some plain cloud dough without colour.
You can use any cooking oil and flour, so if you have stale items, this is such a fun way to use them up rather than throwing them away.
I chose a local flour that I can buy in bulk recyclable paper bags and check your local bulk store for package free oil to make this zero waste.
Cloud dough is cheap to make and as there is no heat involved, kids can help with the entire process.
Use items from your kitchen to create fun shapes or just mould with your hands. Store in tubs when not in use.
We had a super fun time creating and playing with Cloud Dough. I hope you give this a go too!
